Inspired by Gospel values, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, a Catholic lay organization, leads women and men to join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to the needy and suffering in the tradition of its founder, Blessed Frederic Ozanam, and patron, St. Vincent de Paul.
Organized locally, Vincentians witness God’s love by embracing all works of charity and justice. The Society collaborates with other people of good will in relieveing need and addressing its causes, making no distinction in those served, because in them Vincentians see the Face of Christ.
Our Conference meets the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month at 7pm in the Parish Office – Meeting Room. Please join us!
President: Valerie Gohring
Utilizing a number of volunteers, the Conference has a 7 day per week telephone answering service (573)424-1022 and 2 person home visit teams to address the needs of the poor and suffering. Prayer and financial aid is offered generally in the areas of Rental Assistance, Food, Gasoline Vouchers and other areas where the threat of homelessness and personal suffering of families, and especially where children are involved, exists.
Calls are screened by trained volunteers and every effort is made to address needs on a prioritized basis. The Society of St. Vincent DePaul, Our Lady of Lourdes Conference, has the careful stewardship of all charitable contributions foremost in mind in providing any financial assistance. All expenditures require oversight by teams of volunteers through regular conference and/or committee meetings.
